Hello everyone,

I am assisting with the research of a new book all about the Austin J40 and Pathfinder Pedal car, which is due for publication later this year and am currently seeking period original images, preferably unseen.

I am particularly keen to learn more about the cars were used by Birmingham Police for building road safety awareness in children and additionally images of the pedal cars used on the rooftop gardens of Lewis's department store in the 1950's and 60's. I am aware of images elsewhere on this forum, but would need access to the original copyright holders if at all possible.

If you have any information or indeed images that you'd be happy to share, I would be delighted to hear from you as we're keen to feature as many previously unseen images of the J40 or Pathfinder pedal cars as possible.

With my best regards,

Lee Marshall

You were the envy of your friends if you owned one of these pedal cars.  :)
