I was born at 73 Millington Rd, Castle Bromwich, Birmingham.  !5 min walk from the Spitfire factory, where my mother worked during the war, untill I was born.

I was born in Handsworth after being bombed out in Sparkhill in November 1940. Move to Yardley for a couple of days an unexploded bomb was found in the front garden enventually a friend of my aunts put us up in Handsworth where I was born suppose you could say that I was made homeless twice before I saw the light of day.

I only found out a few years ago where I was born as I was an adopted child. I found that I was born in the front bedroom at 58 Cranes Park road Sheldon.

I believe home births are returning again for those that want a home birth.

Which part of Cranes Park Rd is no 58? From 1952 until 1972 I lived in Greenvale  Avenue and went to Mapledene Infant and Junior School. Had my first drink in the Sheldon Pub.
