Roy, what does 'horse road' mean?  I understand the other words and phrases but I've never heard that one.

Sueb

You see this is the trouble with you foreigners from Warwick, you don't understand the queens English like what us Brummies speak. ::)

Fredrick..... Yes I miss the milkman coming round, with his horse and cart, my job was to take my trolley ( board with pram wheels,) and two buckets and my little shovel and go around the streets picking up horsemuck for the allotments, it was worth threpence a week, then off to Gooch St, ( Freds the book shop on the bend, to get my Rupert book,), but them where the days when almost all transport was a horse and cart, and so there was a lot of it, :buck2:.... Like you others I remember the deliveries being made by horse and cart
Bread as well as milk...But did you have yours brought to you on a sledge?
I think it was 1962 when we had terrible snow falls and the Milkman put
all the crates on a big sledge and the horse, named Cheyanne pulled it,he
the horse had sacking bags tied to his feet..The Baker left the H/cart at the
bottom of the lane and put the bread etc in a huge basket to deliver,he wore
hip high fishermens waders.........Of course thuis was up Barr Beacon and we
did,nt have snow sweeper trucks visit us.....

of all UK accents the one that is most attractive to me (sensually) is the Belfast accent :smitten:
Maybe my altruistic views predispose me to such propositions, but it won't stop me joining the party

that is one I don't like actually [and I have relatives there]. I always think it sounds quite hard-edged.

I like the Geordie one :)
The Bristol one makes me smile...
as does the Worcester one [found out my maternal grandmother was from Worcestershire originally].
But of course the Brummie one is the best :-)
