Hi Queenie,

don,t get on this site very often. My family lived in Finchley Rd from 1954 to 64 when we went to Kings Norton. We lived at no. 73.

I had three brothers,Ken,Graham,Geoff and myself. I came to live in Sydney in 1969. Would I know you by any chance?

Hi Folks, my relatives live at the top of Lambeth Rd in a house that has been in the family for a number of generations, now passed on to my cousin and his family. As a 10 year old in the 50s it seemed to me everybody had either worked part or full time at the start of their working lives at the general store at the bottom of the hill, Richards, I think.
Mom and me always travelled by bus from Heaton St, Hockley, can't remember which bus (the inner circle 8 seemed to go everywhere) on our return journey my cousin would go to an upstairs bedroom from where he could see our return bus leaving the terminus at the Queslett Rd, then he would tip us the wink the bus was on its way - particularly helpful in winter - minimised time we were waiting in the cold at the bus stop.
I live in Hampshire now, don't get to Kingstanding very often - is the great model shop still there (opposite Richards)?.
Peg.

Thanks Lyn, that's the one. O0  33? Could be, I think we must have got 2 buses from Hockley to Kingstanding, can't really remember it's been a long time.
