Jasper, I remember the Odeon restaurant. I don't think I'm hallucinating but were there fish tanks set into the walls that were backlit? I only went once, in 1964 when Mum took my brother and me to see The Beatles in Help!We youngsters moved seats because Mum seemed to think she was at The Perils of Pauline or some other silent film and kept shouting out "Look out Ringo!" or "Watch your backs lads!"

I'll just keep putting them up one at a time as their file size is too big, even after I reduced them... Hope you like them....

And Henry's in Union St. I remember buying my mom Christmas decorations in January, as they were selling them off cheap. She thought I was mad spending my bit of money as I was only 10. I think she still has some of the balbs to this day, and that was over 40 years ago..... I used to love going up town as a kid. It was an adventure. The toy department top of Lewis's watching the train and racing car sets and looking at everything. Then upstairs to the restaurant if you had any money. I think it was either a half a crown or five bob for a Knickerbocker Glory. It was in a big long fluted glass and was dear, but it was worth it... Oh Happy Days!
I would love a day in the past as a 10 year old again.....

Telstar,

I'm pretty sure we'd all like a day as a 10 year old - the 'wonder' of discovery.

Not a special day just a day(s)
A day  in my life as a 10 year old, well I was being fitted for a gasmask,
given an identity card, queuing up for groceries un rationed as then.
watching the planes from either side up in the sky, being yelled at to get
undercover, collecting metal for the heap in the playground, being told that
in future it was half day only at school (whoopee), not all these things on one
day of course but...............lunch ,, blackbread with marge and grated carrots
1d per slice.........Helping Mum stock the shelves (we had a corner shop)
minding my sister who was into everything and I got blamed..No I wont put
more once I get started its like an express train I dont stop..........Memories
