Thanks Tony, The family resemblance is unmistakeable. Do you know the significance of the number on the barrow?
It reminds me of doing coal deliveries as a kid in Nechells.

I also wonder about the little boy, could it be George junior?  The jug George is holding, if I'm not mistaken it's a billy can?

Hi all

can any you remember a pub on the junction of long acre and cuckoo road as you came over cuckoo bridge from lichfeild road or am I confusing the building for an outdoor?

I don't think it was a pub, a shop maybe. I never went in there so can't say if it was a beeroff.

The was a beer retailer on the west corner of Long Acre and Cuckoo Rd according to the 1950 & 1967 editions of Kelly's Trade Directory. By 1973 it was a painter & decorators. So I would imagine it had more chance of being an outdoor than a pub.

I'm afraid I'm a bit lost at that end of Nechells and I don't know where the terminus was, if you can give me a location I can look them up in Kelly's. Could they have been these ones?

Thanks for posting Phil I,m not sure those are the ones although I can,t say where they were located they look as though they are on a bend I think the ones I remember were on the straight bit.As you came over Cookoo Bridge the Rd bent to the left and they were on the left I ,m sure there was a Bundy clock there.
