Phil, I was once a founder member of the old true meaning of the Nechells historical society, when the Nechells library was reopenden in 1992/3 after a refurbishment by Carl Chinn and others from the Birmingham council and being known to all that time I was once a semi professional photographer. one member ask me to copy a photo of (Windsor st thanks to you) for their Friend who both lived in the same street as scanners was not as easy acessable as they are today, but I could never remember the name of the street. anyway here is Saltley road in all it's old glory with the Carlton theater on the corner of Saltley road and Nechells place.(I can only remember a petrol sation) you can just make out the library in the distance and the railway bridge also the roof of the church. do you or anyone know if they are public toilets to the right of the photo?
