:D Hi Phil new member here, I liked the photo of the Eagle on Schofield St I lived a 2/74, Iused to go there to fill the pop bottle with Mild for my Dad, there used to be the wood factory there, also the Toroni's lived there next to the Khans, Mohamad & Mousa I think Mousa died in a traffic accident, also the Toroni's had acoal yard on Rocky Lane, we used to get a barrow of coal and take it home pour it down the coal hole then take tha barrow back to get the deposit back, I also remember the Alsatian it's name was Kim and he bit me when I trod on his lead after he escaped, and Henry told me to stand on it silly but I did, still he gave me ten shilling for my trouble, I think my mom paid the tick of at loyns shop at the top, this is a brilliant sight so many happy poor but happy memories.

Hi Dave

Welcome to our little band of old Nechellites. You are among friends here, as we have all drunk from the same cup and we can all remember the bad times but they are laced strongly with good times and there is one thing for sure our trials & tribulations or our successes never did us any harm did they.

Hi pudding

Thanks for that, the tag says it was taken in the 1960's but I would think it very late in the 60's or even early in the 70's as some of the houses seem to have demolition notices on them.

Does the article in the mag say just where the photo is taken from, as I think it would just be about opposite the terrace (Ruben Place) where I lived, because I think the white fronted building on the right is the Britannia Pub.

Hi Dek, funny you should say 1963 here's a photo of myself in Malvern hill road trying to look cool by my dads a ford consul,as the public works department is just starting to install eclectic lighting in the road. in the background you can see the old Aston 3D shed coaling tower and water tank also st peters and st Paul's church and to the left of the water tank is part of the radiation gas fires offices on thimble mill lane to the left side of the photo is the old air raid shelter. sorry about the quality the photo as it was taken with a toy camera as I was only nine. which I still have
