Pudding

The Lister Tavern was on Great Lister St and I believe on the corner of Little Francis St.

I suppose The Manor Tavern is really in Aston as it is on Portland Rd, but I did say some of these pubs are on the edge of the district.

Phil & Pudding, The picture of the Jenny Lind pub, corner of Aston Church Road/ Mount Street, Nechells, must have been there before the war, as I was born in 1938, and cannot recall it, but my dads local "The Prince of Wales" on the opposite side of the road, corner of Aston Church Road/ Mount Street, was there until it was demolished in the late 50s early 60s, yet I have never seen a picture of it, can either of you put one up please.

Hi Gibson how great to read your memories of Arley. We currently have one of the chalets which you would have passed on your way to the little island on the River Severn, we go most weekends and stop for weeks at a time during the summer. It is a wonderful area and we enjoy the walks through the woods and also along the river to Arley and Highley and our grandsons love the trains. The ferry at Arley is no longer there as it has been replaced by a footbridge however the ferry was moved to Bewdley where it worked there until it eventually sank! How great that you have a video playing around the river - what great memories, do you have any photos of those days.
