Henry Taroni was pals with my Dad & G'dad back then. All in scrap metal biz. I recall Mum telling me Henry had bought a farm and had horses.

Henry Taroni's farm was near Bassets Pole , i believe he rented it
A picture of him in the Evening Mail sitting on a pure white horse
in his scrapyard in Aston Church Rd ,i can't remember the story though
Maybe someone on the forum can relate

That could be when he joined the Hunt Whitty, I recall there were 2 or 3 mentions in the Mail.

I have checked the trade directory's and William Rogers was listed as owner as the owner of the coal yard back to the end of the war c1945. I also checked on Taroni in the mid 50's and I can only find him listed at Trevor Street and Schofield Street listed as a scrap merchant.

I have a black and white photo of him on his horse, I have tried to upload it but it won’t accept it.

Your copy is probably too big for the forum, it has to be less than 80kb in size. Is this the one?
