I remember the red phone boxes with the bakelite hand sets and the A and B buttons, what I remember was opening the door and letting of jumping jack fireworks inside them.

You little tinker!!         I have got one of those black  button A & B boxes + pyramid shaped bakelite phone, in my loft.
                                      Anyone got a red phone box they don't want.    ::)

There are still 2 fully-working red call boxes at Moor Street Station (at the foot of the overbridge).
     
Nice though they are, I think I prefer the look of the previous model which was roughly the same as the red one but looks as though it might have had a whitish stone finish.
There's no B/S on Planet Malc.
