Divorce in the 1950's
« on: February 17, 2009, 02:54:27 PM »
Dear All

I was hoping that somebody out there might be able to help me. I am currently looking for people that got divorced in the 1950's as part of some research for a programme I am working on about social change during this period. In the 1950's divorce was relatively uncommon and often still frowned upon despite the liberation it offered many people trapped in loveless marriages.

Also around this time Princess Margaret came under intense pressure due to her relationship with the divorced Group Captain Townsend, and eventually cancelled her intended wedding to him.

If you can, or know anyone who might relate to these issues I would very much appreciate if you could get in contact with me.

Many thanks
