Some photos of Yardley Old Village as requested elsewhere by Edmund Fifield. You never said what period you were looking for but what you are looking for may be among these.

E F,
There are on caravans in the sand dunes now at Freshwater East and haven't been for over 30 years. Another magic place in Pembrokeshire.    O0

Hello Gill55

The Davis family were probably an end house. I'll ask my brother re who he remembers.

The Esso garage was where Bill worked. We worked together at Cooks Lane Garage and Cateswell Lodge Garage, Hall Green. I think Bill left Cateswell in 1972/3. I not sure when he started at the Esso garage. I used to call in there for petrol and to see Bill. I'm sure he was there in 1973/4 to around 1978. He had two boys, the eldest Steven, would probably be 60 now.

Your house must have been near what was called the Welfare, I remember going there for my jabs as a little nipper.

The Davis family were about a third of the way along Williston when you turned at Hazeldene.  Don and Harry were in charge of the Esso garage until 1977 when I left Birmingham.  I am not sure about the Welfare office, are you sure you are at the Mackadown lane end of the Radleys and not the shops.  Which secondary school did you go to and which years. ?
