Hi Phil
It's not really an epic journey, I just catch one bus to the Bull ring and one bus to Tyseley. I am in no rush in the morning, I read my paper or talk to someone or just enjoy the ride.
The alternative is the 17 bus to the Yew Tree, then the 11 or 41 to Acocks Green, and then the 37 from Acocks Green to Tyseley.
Bearing in mind I could be waiting up to 15 minutes for each bus. So the trip I make yes is far longer but is quicker and believe me involves far less stress. Also on market days I pick up a pile of fruit as well. On the odd occasion I visit the best cafe in Brum. There is quite a lot of work in our area these days Phil but not the heavy industry as you know it. The largest company by far is a firm called SCH Specialist Computer Holdings, they are a massive privately owned outfit wh deal with the likes of the NHS and Royal Mail Etc. See their website.
As for tramp yes I have a bike and could ride it to work but there is no way on this planet I could manage to ride it home again after my day. I wouldn't ride a bike on the road in Brum at that time of day anyway our roads are far too dangerous. SB
