Hi , on the 1851 census George Field my gt gt gt grandfather lived at court 12 no2 Slaney street, Birmingham.

George Field head age 52 , Born London , Gunmaker
Jemima Field wife age 52 Born Birmingham
George Field son age 17 Born Birmingham , gun finisher

Jospeh is in my line of descendency .

Just recently found that some of my ancestors lived here too - John Cunningham gave this as his address at his marriage in 1854, his son's wife was born there in 1862, and the whole family lived around the area in Weaman Street, Steelhouse Lane etc. They were all of Irish descent, it seems there was quite a big Irish community in the area. So thanks for the pictures, it's so nice to see!
