Phil, what a great photo of Holborn Hill, The small wall on the right , is over the river Rea, my grandparents yard is to the right of the wall. The houses you see past the wall, are in Plume Street, past the two shops on each corner of Plume Street, were a few houses, then the factory of AF PARKES, who used to make shovels, spades, forks etc. On the left of the photo, starting at Long Acre, and going the full length of Holborn Hill, was the foundry of JOHN WRIGHT, I do recall the buildings on the right, were still there in the late 1950s, but dont know when they were demolished, but I believe the building of JOHN WRIGHT is still standing, but put to other uses.
