I was born in Loveday Street maternity hospital on 23/11/ 1940, and was then evacuated to Pype Hayes Hall 10 days later, I believe it became a nurses quarters before it was demolished.

Hi jaykay

Welcome to the forum am I right in the assumption that you are  another female to add to the swelling ranks of femininity on this forum. Are the females here advertising for new members.

I thought that Loveday Street was still in full production until the whole place was revamped as the New Children's Hospital recently.

I know it had the very great honour of bringing me into the world in 1947.

Hello everyone,
No I'm not female, I was originally from Nechells, and then Small Heath ,follwed by
Yardley, Northfield and then Kings Norton.
Iam now retired (68) and living in Brighton, I am coming to Birmingham for a short visit (7 days) on the 2nd October.

Hello again jaykay

Forgive my error, thats where assumption gets you. Where in Nechells do you originate from. I spent a good part of my early life there on and off. I suppose like myself you moved out when the demolition contractors moved in.

Hello phil47,
I lived in Cromwell Street until I was 13 and then moved to Fosbrooke Road Small Heath
when they started the demolition.
Our house no.80 was one of the last ones to go, we lived next door to the Cromwell Arms pub.
