Me thinks a few years after you. The roller rink i remember in the 70's was once an ice rink in summerhill lane. Les Ross from BRMB was the dj there.
The Embassy changed to a bingo hall.

Hi astrablue
welcome to the Birmingham forum, never got to the Summer Hill Rink, the Silver Blades and the Embassy yes loads of times. I did have a relative who lived round the corner in St Marks Rd. Still I do have a photo but it might be a little before your time.

yes, I only know of Silver Blades (Hurst St?), where I went a couple of times in about '72, but was so chicken on the ice,
which grieves me very badly, as I LOVE Ice Dance and am now watching it on ITV, my favourite prog. of the week.

Kudos phil47...a terrific photo..I used to play on those steps.
Incidentally the building with the tower in the background was once a press shop and is now luxury apartments.

Phil,
You parked right in front off the road, before you took it, didn't you?

Phil,
You certainly did., A classic set of wheels.
My mother would've said about you what she used to say about me
''don't know where you get them b8888y big ideas from, but don't bring 'em here''.

If I'd have brought that home and parked it outside my mothers house overnight all that would have been left by morning.Would have been a few nuts and bolts and an oil stain on the road.
