Hello Jack, I have a book coming out this month called A History of Moseley Village by Norman Hewston. It is one of a series of 5 published by Ambersley. There are photos of Moseley village and scarce ones of many of the back streets through many decades.

Hello Denise,
I haven't even seen it myself yet, but know it went to print yesterday. I think W.H.Smith & Tesco's are going to be stocking it for sure. Ambeley intend to bring one volume out every six months I believe. If you have any trouble obtaining a copy, keep me posted and I'll see what I can do.

Hi Norman

Long time no hear, I suppose you have been busy getting your book together, hopefully I will also adding your book to my collection. Do you think it will get distributed before Christmas?

Hello Phil,
You can count on it. The publishers were eager to get it out well in time. I am currently awaiting my own copy.

Phil

I came across this thread while looking for contact information for Norman Hewston who, as you know, wrote the book about Moseley Village.  His profile here says he has not been here since 2010, but since you appear to be friendly with him, I am hoping you can pass on this inquiry to him if he does not see it directly.

I am looking for information, photos, on what was standing at 35 Trafalgar Road, in Moseley, in the 1930s.

On page 84 of Norman's book (which I bought), he has a 1992 photo of some old terrace houses he implies WERE on Trafalgar Road (but are no more). However, since he says that Woodbridge is behind the photographer, it seems this photo must have been taken on the south end of Trafalgar Road, whilst 35 Trafalgar Road seems to be at the northeast corner where there is now a park space.

Does anyone know of photos that would include 35 Trafalgar Road as was back then (or even with buildings still standing there)?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Mark

Welcome to you, I'm afraid my only knowledge of Norman Hewston is gained from his postings to this forum. Though you are quite right in your assumption concerning Trafalgar Rd. Number 35 was in the bend of the road at the northern end of the road see attached map).

As for contacting Norman all I can suggest is after making 5 posts to the forum the messaging system will become available to you. If you send him message through this system and he is still using the same email address he joined the forum with then a copy will be forwarded to him automatically.
