Thanks for the map Mikejee!

Actually, I had a lot of friends in Quinton but I was going the other way, down the Hagley Road toward town. I lived in Edgbaston just round the corner from the Norfolk Hotel in Melville Road on the corner by the church! They were good times for me, too!

Talking about bus garages I seem to remember there being one in Bearwood

Bearwood Garage was the Head Office for Midland Red.

Yes I remember the Bearwood bus depot well. Nice building, very large. Remember it becoming a good indoor market. I remember the meat man in his big wagon.

Spent many a happy hour in Lightwoods Park with Buster the dog. Played tennis there and 9 hole golf.

I had many happy hours in Lightwoods Park - did you know any of the lads and lasses who used to go there?

Sorry Snooks. I went to the park with my mates, we either played tennis or golf. Occasionally we kicked a ball about, then a couple of strangers would join in, but lads being, lads, we'd never ask who they were.  ;D

I started as a driver at Acocks Green in 1978, they had just gone one man but I had to agree to conduct if required, one of my routes was the OuterCircle (the desert), there were Bundy Clocks (if I remember correct) on the C Ring at Handsworth Wood Rd, Fox & Goose, and Yardley Wood Rd, on the A Ring it was George Rd (Marsh Hill), Bearwood (Kings Head) and Sarehole Mill, at the time there was, A Green, Cotteridge, Selly Oak, Harborne, Perry Barr and Tyburn Road garages, and that's only on the route, there was also Yardley Wood, Moseley Road, Quinton, Hockley, Lea Hall, Washwood Heath, Birmingham Central (Liverpool St), I can't think of any others,

There was also one at Lea Hall.
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?

Quite right Fred, and I think some remnants of the building are still there. O0
