our door was francis the market people.one day them and the police were trying catch  a huge spider down the passage.it was in a box of fruit.and jumped out.

Heres one some of you should remember, an unusual little street off Bristol St near the Horsefair. Little Bow Street.

hi.no phil it is true.the passage ran from op clair auctions.i cant remember the name of the road. ps i dont drink much,i spill most of it lol ;D

It was terrific for ducking and diving away, as well as being attractive in its own way.

It used to stand where The Night Out nightclub was build, this became the Dome I think and the the Academy I think, I can't keep up with these night clubs now I no longer use them.

This has been a superb collection of alleyways, passages and narrow entries or lanes.  All of these places were fascinating, sometimes scary, but well worth recording here.
 
I have just come across this image of St Martin's Row, off Broad Street.  I see from the old A to Z that it connected with Cambridge Street.

Brilliant photo, I hadn't seen that one before. I have several taken from the other direction but none from that angle. Needless to say I have helped myself to a copy.

St Peter Place has long gone and so have the houses. I think today the land they were built on would make a fortune, I'm not so sure of the houses. As it is in the middle of Birmingham's entertainment centre now, the noise would be unbearable plus because of Birmingham's shortage of public loo's you would wake every morning to a river of "P" in the alley.
