Sorry I think you have got me with this one. The Jolly Tea Pot at Stechford is a new one on me. Where exactly was it, if you used it before or after a night at the Beaufort Cinema was it not more likely to be Ward End?

Not a café or a coffee bar, but I am sure we have all stood here at some time or other. Heel to toe with the rich and famous or some Hells Angel on his Hog. Or even a poor down and out.

I'm sure that at some time or other we have all stumbled out of some club or pub in town an headed to Alex's Pie Stand for a coffee and burger or just to look and see what pop star was having a late bite there after a gig.

I used it quite a bit as it was only at the back of my favourite watering hole The Crown.

I don't doubt that our paths did cross, I knew a lot of people in my youth not only in Birmingham but all up and down our wonderful country.

Rob & Denise

Lets put this into perspective, the parts of Birmingham that I know, I know well and that is because in my work I had to travel around all the run down and dilapidated parts of Birmingham to view different jobs.

In the posher and newer areas of Birmingham there were rarely any calls for buildings to be demolished or stripped out. So these areas I have little knowledge of.

So inner city I can cope with, even middle ring sort of area, but get me towards the outskirts and I am lost.

Despite the presence of a non-Birmingham bus in the foreground, this is Bristol Road Northfield and you can see Smoky Joes in the background.

How many recognise this place, (not Birmingham I know) we often popped down there to spend a night spotting who dropped in after finishing a gig on their way to their next venue.
