Roy,

I have no personal knowledge of this place, so I can only go by the directory's. They put the Riviera at 197 Soho Road, next door to Broadmead's that stood at 199-201 Soho Rd on the corner of Nineveh Road. It opened c1962 and closed c1966 during those years it expanded into 195 as Riviera Catering the premises closed when the corner of Nineveh Road was demolished and replaced with new shops.

Anyway that puts the Riviera at No 197 right behind the traffic light next door to Broadmead's
Phil died in 2020. RIP.

I think most of us used cafes when we were young, no doubt played on the pinball machines, but can you remember the machines that you had to get 3,4 or 5 balls in a row, horizontally, vertically or diagonally to win free games? Do you know if these machines were called by a different name than pinball? I have been looking everywhere for one but cant find any.

they are called bally pinballs

When I worked at Harry Levys I used to make the machines with the crane grab, Do not have a go on these the owners can set their own pressure on the crane grab,so it does not matter how you try,9times out of 10 you can't win

Yes those are the ones Roy, still looking for a place that sells them. Found plenty of pinball machines for sale but they are asking ridiculous  money.
