We used to walk from Dale End to El Sombrero in our lunch hour for a cup of coffee and listen to the music being played back in the early 60's.

The El Sombrero  had an after hours nightclub we used to go around the back some how to get in, if it was a busy night with abig crowd the doormen wouldn't let you in unless they knew you. I think it was illegal or unlicenced thats why we had to go up some alley and through a back door. Early 60's.

Can anyone remember the coffee bar in New Meeting Street and if so what was it called? We used to go there in our lunch hour in the early 60's.

Not when we went there but it could have been renamed.

The other Cafe in New Meeting Street was "The Everyman" and it was further down nearer Moor Street than the "Stage Door"
Phil died in 2020. RIP.
