Thanks mate. Don't you reckon that it's down to where and when we have been, that we have a different kind of deeper pride in our roots than those who haven't?
It's absolutely nothing to do with nostalgia, and everything to do with the various realities we've been part of through the years. It's also why I want to see me and Fred's old teacher before one of us pops our clogs - she is the brummie who set me on a positive, if occasionally bumpy road that's brought me here, and hopefully back there for a day or two to say ''thanks''.
As ever, it's decent folk, not ''sights'' I want to see - rocks like Ayer's, the Taj or the Pyramids are beautiful in very different ways, but they don't have a lot to say for themselves!
