Nice to hear this event will bring some joy to him especially if the Cup is brought to Aston

There is a good omen about '2010'

Villa were First Division Champions 1910 (sixth time) Unbeaten at home.

One player and long servant of the Club was a certain Charles Wallace who appeared
in that side also gaining two F.A. Cup Final medals 1913 and 1920.
Incidently Villa also won the George Robey International Cup in 1910. The famous
music hall entertainer staged many charity matches and took active part in them
Hope you find this interesting trivia from a 100 years ago.
By the way I was not around at the time!

On 05091910 Brighton and Hove Albion beat Aston Villa 1-0 at Stamford Bridge before
13,000 spectators The F.A. CHARITY SHIELD WIN  provided the Club with their SINGLE
National honour to date. Winners of the Southern League v Division One Champions this
was a shock result in Villa's ratings at the time

Head to Head

AV 10 wins    BHA 4     Draws  1

It took 45 years before the clubs were paired again on 08011955
in the F.A. Cup - resulting in a 2-2 draw. Villa won the replay

This next F.A. Cup match is the 4th meeting in Cup matches during
the last 100 years

EN v BC FC -4th Round

08012002 EN 2  BC 0
15021939 EN 2  BC 1
AFTER A 2 ALL DRAW

The best date to remember 10011920
BC 2  EN  0

So will it be 90 years when the 'Blues prevail over the 'Toffees' in the FA Cup 2010
The Clubs' fourth FA Cup meeting

And its 50 years since the Football League Cup got off the ground.

And the first winners were ...?
We are all ONE - despite appearances!
