Ancient Aircraft

In the Vedic literature of India, there are many descriptions of flying machines that are generally called Vimanas. India's national epic, The Mahabharata, is a poem of vast length and complexity. There are no physical remains of ancient Indian aircraft technology but references to ancient flying machines are commonplace in the ancient Indian texts. Several popular ancient epics describe their use in warfare. Depending on one's point of view, either it contains some of the earliest known science fiction, or it records conflict between beings with weapons as powerful and advanced as anything used today. See http://www.ufoevidence.org/topics/Vimanas.htm

From another scriptural source in my hands, the existence of the Vimanas is confirmed, by Sage Bharadwaja, a man of great knowledge in ancient times (thousands of years ago), and is the man reputed to have begun the Indian science of medicine - ayurveda ("life knowledge") - still practised to-day and still (with Chinese medicine) in advance of western medicine.

It is clear that the sciences of India thousands of years ago were probably in advance of what we know to-day (and then mostly lost), yet we have a certain contributor to this forum who claims that it is only men such as Einstein that deserve mention as men of merit.

The big difference is that Ancient India was replete with men whose great knowledge of the sciences came hand in hand with their spirituality. They were 'sages'. They were in balance with humanity and the universe - and 'God'.
We are all ONE - despite appearances!
