We'd all buy one of those sticks with one end flattened by the maker's stamp, after sucking them for a bit we'd run around smacking each other's legs with them. The loser had the most brown stripes.
 
 
Loved my Basset's Liqourish Allsorts, took the sandwich ones apart, lined them up and ate them one at a time.
