Night Out Theatre Restaurant.
« on: July 21, 2010, 08:51:11 AM »
Does anyone remember the Night Out Theatre Resaurant in Birmingham City Centre , just on the Bristol Road.I worked there as a barman from 1979 until it closed in 1984 .I mainly worked on bars 2 and 4 and occaisionally downstairs in the lounge. My name is Dave Morris and i worked with Pete Totty. We had some good times there, it was a shame when they closed it down. After work we would sometimes go for a curry over the road at the Shah Bar although we knew it as something else.

the [censored] Bag was on Bristol St. I don't think there's anything there that's been in the same usage for more than a few years except for one old members club.

Dave my parents worked there in the resident band Delta Dawn for some years, possibly at the same time as you. I've just been scanning some old photos in today and googled the place and your post came up! If you want some photos then send me a personal message and give me your email address. Cheers, Jeff Botwood

Yes that is right Paul Lillycrap was the manager at he time ,the head doorman was a guy called Eddie. Although the wages were rubbish i enjoyed working there , its a pity it had to close , but i think that was down to the greed of some of the agents , they just wanted to much.
