Hi SB
The trouble with all live acts is they sometimes do not measure up to our expectations. I learned this early on in life at the Town Hall. Many of the acts that I saw there live were rubbish but were charting fantastic records at the time.
I learned to only pay to see acts that I knew were going to be good. Acts like The Big O, Tom Jones, Lulu, Kathy Kirby, The Tremaloes, P.J.Proby, Dusty Springfield, Screaming Lord Such, Long John Baldry.
I could go on forever, these people sounded the same on or off record and always gave their best.
I have to mention Norman Wisdom and Ken Dodd who were in my opinion two of the best live acts ever. They put everything they had into their act. After watching Norman Wisdom one give his all one night I have to say that I felt wore out so he must have been knackered.
