Here is your granddad selling his Pineapples from his stall, I know you have seen this photo before and the story that went with it.

Much later than that picture I know - possibly late 60's, maybe very early 70's - but my dad would often bring a pineapple home with him as we liked them.  The one day the girl asked him what it was when she saw him carrying one & when he told her she wouldn't believe him.  She'd only ever had tinned pineapple & thought they came in chunks!  Dad had to cut it up in front of her & let her taste it before she'd believe him

The end of the Bull Ring that a some of us spent a lot of time hanging around in as teenagers mostly because it was free and it was warm in the winter. It looks like someone just dropped a bomb on it, making more of a mess than the Luftwaffe managed to do in the last war.

It just baffles me that I have absolutely no recollection of the process of demolishing the Bull Ring, or the building of the new one.  It's like I completely ignored that side of Town for several years

The first time I went inside the new Bull Ring Centre was about 12 months ago, I just had no reason to be there.

A busy day in the Bull Ring, the photo is not dated though judging by the street hawker selling hula hoops I would judge it to be 1958 as that was the time of the hula hoop craze in the UK. I was never able to keep one going for more than a couple of seconds myself, so it was one craze I didn't bother with.
