Hi Mogmeister,

I know the rink at Summer Hill was a roller rink originally, but it wasn't it an ice rink by the 60's?

It was the Embassy on Walford Rd Sparkbrook that was a roller rink wasn't it?

;) Hi Phil47      The Embassy on Walford Road, was indeed a roller skating rink, The first date I had with my late husband, was spent at the rink, in the early 1950s,  happy days indeed.

I think the Tower Ballroom started life as a roller rink and I think also the Erdington Picture Playhouse Cinema.

I used the roller rink on summer hill lane during the late 60's/70's. I remember Les Ross was the dj followed by a guy named frankie. I used to dance on the stage and pinch the dj's bum ;D

Hi Frederick, Thanks for putting the photo's on of the Walford Road roller skating team, although we spent many happy hours at the rink, neither my husband or myself were good enough to join a team, are you on the photo's ?

I think it changed over to a roller rink in the mid 60's, probably when the embassy closed down as a roller rink.
