Correct. I didn't get the photo from the forum but even if I had there isn't  many people on the forum now, who would have remembered a photo posted in 2009.

I was watching 'Streets Of Birmingham' on the Made In Birmingham channel the other day & they drove past the Wake Green Road prefabs en route to the Kings Heath area!

No Lyn not Hobmoor Road,  I said not to jump to conclusions.

countryboy,  not Elt Brothers either. I knew both brothers well when they were based in Deakins Road as we always ran Bedford Lorries and we even bought a couple off them. We dealt with them until they sold out after moving to the corner of Amington Road and Stockfield Rd on the site of the old Speedwell pub.

Now you mention it Deakins Road, I was trying to think where they were and googled it. Obviously came up with The later site. Didn't realise they were at Speedwell old Site. There was a scrap yard just by the Speedwell, wasn't there about 1980?

Can't say I remember the scrap yard, but I do remember the Elts moving to Amington Road just before the turn of the century, they also closed their depot on Shaftmoor Lane at the same time.

Still neither of these locations are what I am looking for.

Dave.

It could be, but Acocks Green is a big place, it streches from Yardley to Hall Green and Tyseley to Olton.
