Not Piers Road, but you are only about half a mile away now.

Judith

You are not right but there are several reasons why I'm going to give it to you, the first one being it used to lead to Soho Wharf as did Wharf Street the actual street in the photo. Also they are both off Park Street Hockley so if I said you were wrong I would have to have said you were only around the corner from the correct location the next person to have a go would have surely solved it , but inly because of your answer.

Well done Judith, Phil and everyone else. I wasted a few hours I'll never get back on that one.

I think I've pretty much memorised the industrial estates on Google maps of Hockley now  :P  ;D

Yes its the Crown, a pub I never really liked. isn't it called Edwards now?

Phil

Phil just trawling through this thread , when I was a nipper I heard about collecting silver paper for some cause or other back in the late 50's through a friend of the family, I was introduced to old George who looked after the boilers that heated The Crown . I handed over the silver paper to him and he gave me a tour of the back of the pub coke heap boilers etc . Little did I know then that I would be a regular in the 70's along with my wife when Ann and Pat served in the smoke room, plus good old John Peake and his wife who I cannot remember her name right now managed the pub . Good old days
