No Roy you are miles away and this place was constructed many years before 1975 it does have very loose connection with the World Cup.
Perhaps I should add just about everyone will have  heard of this place in fact you can find these around Birmingham

No Scipio it is not in The UK even. Another clue the men in the photo would speak Spanish but it is not Spain and it is around 48 miles long

Right again Roy It is actually The Gatun Locks. The Ramp and Rails seen in the background is the track for the Donkeys [Electric Trains] which pull the ships through the locks. The Photo was taken 7 years ago from MV Arcadia on our way from the Pacific into the Caribbean I seem to remember being told that the cost of the Transit for Arcadia was something like $250,000

A bit more difficult than the BCLM, but within approximately the same circular distance from Birmingham
