Garvin, Yes there was a horse trough on Lichfield Road, before you reached Aston Cross, it was situated away from the pavement, on a small island, and many years ago, a policeman was shot near the trough, but as I was only a child at the time, I knew nothing about the incident, Im talking late 1940, early 1950s.

Townie , it was a road off Barton Hill , it was basically over the road from the Barton Arms for what I remember  :)
