Can someone confirm the real name of what some call Moat Row and others call Moat Lane? Thank you. Or was there both Moat Row and Moat Lane.
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?

There was both a Moat Lane & Moat Row in the vicinity of the Bull Ring one ran up the digbeth side of Smithfield Market and the other the Bradford St side,. I have marked them A & B on this map.

Smythes Tenement, Selly Hill Farm, The Rookery or as it is better known now Selly Manor. Here in it's original position on Bournbrook Road before it was moved and rebuilt between 1909 and 1916 to Sycamore Road - Maple Road Bournville by Cadbury's.

I was under the impression that this thread was about City Centre and surrounding streets. This is a quote from page 1.(We have a thread dedicated to the Bullring, but we have no other thread dedicated to the surrounding streets). I must have read it wrong so here is a photo of the start of the A38 Rubery Flyover

With previous images from the Lickey Hills, Ward End, Stechford, Winson Green, Five Ways and Barnt Green, it has hardly been a format strictly adhered to. Precisely when does a street stop surrounding the Bull Ring? In effect every street in Birmingham surrounds the Bull Ring. The only images that do not  surround the Bull Ring are those of the Bull Ring itself of which I note there are also some of those included here.

Townie, fascinating picture of Cannon St. Amazed to see Cafe D'Italia, I imagine one of the first Italian Cafe/Restaurants in Birmingham perhaps in the country?

If you had been around the Italian Quarter at the middle of the 1800's Bordesley Street, Bartholemew Street,  Fazeley Street, New Canal Street & Duddeston Row were all known as part of Little Italy. Italian Cafe's, Restaurants, Ice cream Makers & Confectioners abounded many moved into the centre of Birmingham and opened premises. Surely the Verrechia family of ice cream makers were known all over Birmingham.
