I think in my opinion this photo was taken around Shepcote / St Vincent St and that street in view is buried under the NIA and those old buildings in the distance to the right must have something to do with the inland waterways which still can be viewed today  O0

Dave Sheepcote St is behind you  carry on walking backwards up this street and you're at the bottom of Sheepcote St

I take it you mean about where the red dot is on the map. But , in that case there would be railway lines visible. as the lines were not covered  at that time

Mike if memory serves me right, directly under the word street is where the railway arches were , a school mate of mine used to live in the street to the left of St Vincent St. On your map if you go back about 1-1/2 inch to the bend in the street when you stood at his door you could see the railway arches

I was trying to work it out based on the two tower blocks on the right, the BT tower (centre) and the church steeple on the left, but it's giving me a head ache. :-\
Possibly somewhere around the Jewellery Quarter area or the NIA?

That darkish building in the distance right of the flats is Kingston Row  ::)
