Where Do We Live?
« on: June 13, 2011, 09:22:33 PM »
It's hard to remember where everyone lives. I know Jacqueline lives in Brum, but who else lives there? I think Roy does, but not sure. So tell us where you live.

I live in Hartford, the capital town of Connecticut, in the U.S. of A.

In the only place I ever said I'd like to come back to for longer.  That was 20 years ago, and have been back here in the oldest European style city (cathedral, hosp'l, city walls etc) in the Americas since Easter 97...and I like Santo Domingo more than any of the other dozen places I've lived since I last left brum 52 years ago.  It has many faults, many advantages and I've come to know some fine folk. I like the climate and the fact that I can get a bit of enjoyable work to suit - and enjoy.  The very best things are free: birdsong, sunshine and fresh air from the Trade Winds. O0

Fred,

It's tough going ain't it?  Same old contentment, day in day out - being happy might get dead boring in another 50 years ;D

Pamela,

You live the old de facto capital of Scotland, a royal burgh which rightfully housed the Stone of Scone, on which Scots kings were crowned...the original SaintJohnstoun after John the Baptist.  Steeped in history, inhabited over 7,500 years ago (if I remember rightly) and still a prominent regional centre - a lovely place that I've only been through twice and those were over 40 years and 25 years ago
