and Chinese/Korean and Japanese .These on the whole
speak pretty good Kiwi English their only problem in my
eyes is they talk so blooming quietly, I have to ask them
to YELL at me............Have met some rather nice Doctors
from all over, both men and women during my frequent
stays at the Waikato Hotel.............Just have patience

I bet they would understand the word  Deportation  if the police said it to them, anyone born in another country should be deported if they do anything wrong,

Agreed Its that simple, I would be happy as a tax payer to pay to see them sent home instead of paying ridiculous amounts of money for interpreters and court costs !

We have a police program here on the telly, and you see them whizzing around, then they stop a car/van, and straight away the driver say "me no understand", if he does not understand how the hell did he get a licence,? normally it's not taxed, or insurered but it's ok because it belongs to his brother or wife, or who ever, and for an MOT, you can forget that,
To me that sort of driving offence means a fine, plus the taking away the vehicle, and nothing more, but kill some one with a car like that does mean time, because they cant say "me no understand" knowing that the car in not safe to use or has no insurance, road tax ok, slap their hand and make them pay up the full amount..
But for breaking into some ones home and taking what the owner has worked hard for, to me that should merit a deportation, ( with all his family) up, out and on the plane with in four days, no messing around with bits of paper saying you must report to this station in ten days time, ha, you wont see their ass for dust, how many thieves rapists, murders are running loose in Britian? the ones they know of, the others are some were else, maybe.? yepe 150.000 criminals that they know of are on the loose.? and they all have their little peice of paper telling them to report to the police/immigration station/centre.? .. you cou;d'nt make this up. :idiot2:

John,

Bang on in a nutshell.  When they arrive in the country they should be given a plasticised folding card in their language telling them that:

the following crimes and misdemeanours will mean DEPORTATION for him and his family who will also each be given a card.

that this applies to any and all of his family who are already in UK.

that there is NO appeal procedure.

Be good, work hard pay taxes, learn our culture, integrate and you will be a welcome member of society.

To paraphrase the above quote:

"Me no understand" is a phrase often heard by foreign police when arresting British people abroad. They think by saying they only speak English it excuses them for not understanding the law when they break it.

Football hooligans, drug smugglers, thiefs, rapists, con men - I wonder if a criminal from Britain asks for an interpreter or waives their right to due process when they commit crimes elsewhere?

Clever! 8)

T.Cat,

If they are visitors, the first person they should call for is British Consul and do all possible to AVOID an unknown interpreter who may paid by Police to say that you have just confessed tho' you may not know you've been charged - in such cases, a ''friendly'' fuzz then says he may be able to get you off with a fine - you are escorted to a cachpoint or bank to make the pay off........better to have held out until the Consul came unless you or your company has money to burn - coz you've just been burned.

Hint - avoid carrying credit cards

You've never been abroad, but imagine being denied due process in a foreign country.
I don't think you would go to a foreign country just to steal, .. but don't forget in Britain it's their human rights. The other night i saw a film about the pickpockets in Spain. my god they were all at it, the guy with the camera walked about 100 yards and we saw at least three teams working the 100 yards.
