Chris
Sorry not used to Birmingham Forum never did face book twitter...
So can you help me please...? Not really sure how to use it...😜
I have wrote a book Free Boots and Back to Backs  by Maureen Harvey, and want to know if I can talk about it on forum...
It's about Arthur Street Small Heath Birmingham growing up there in the 1950's.
I was one of 9 children and went to Dixon Road school that has been demolished now 😕
Then went to Tilton Road for a short time by the Blues football ground.
The book is full of funny stories and information about the area and sure your forum followers would love to hear about it and get the book.

Hi Dixon. Chris is the owner of this forum, just send him PM. I am sure there is nothing wrong with your request. I am pretty sure that a lot of members on this forum would love to read about the old Small Heath.

New kid on the bloc.........except I'm no longer a kid.

Bit about myself, born in Sheldon, my wife is from Skegness.
We now live in Solihull.
I'm retired, finished work years back well before retirement age, then the wife and I moved out to Turkey, we did 10 years out there been back here a couple of years back now. Drove to & from Turkey four times, France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece & then into Turkey.
Prior to moving to Turkey I gave up the plumbing game & bought a hotel in Blackpool, a place where people who come for the weekend & forget to go home :-) Specialised in Hens & Stag parties only, it was tough but the money was good.
Had that for a couple of years, too much like hard work........

Hi Plumer,
I was born in Cranes Park road now living in Pembrokeshire also had a hotel for five years.     O0

Met my now wife in the Sheldon (both underage). Had a good mate down that road (Paul Bignall) that was in my mad motor bike days

The wife loved the hotel, she was Mother to all Hens & Stags, it was "can you wash & iron this for us love", they got treated better than me.
Prior to the hotel we went & looked at a hardware shop to buy in Wales but......it never happened. TBH Turkey was the best decision we ever made.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome folks.
