Any info on houses in cheapside/ barford street from 1900's

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site, and haven't had a chance to run through the forum posts, but just wondering if anyone had found any information in their travels about Cheapside or Barford Street, from around 1900's. We have done some research on the census around the time and our family were very local to the area.


Any information, pictures, or pointing in the right direction would be hugely appreciated

Welcome to the forum, Cheapside was is a district of Birmingham known today as Highgate. It used to run from Moseley Rd to Jamaica Row on the edge of the Bull Ring, but since the building of the wholesale fruit and veg market it curtails at Barford St.
 
This photo shows an OS map of what Cheapside would have looked like and the photo is of a back court off Cheapside around the time you mention.

My greatgrand parents used to run this shop not sure of the exact years I know it was in the 1930's not sure how long after my great grandfather was found in the canal (1940)my great grand mother kept it.
My grand parents lived at the back of it.

Welcome to the forum, which shop are we talking about. because a canal didn't run at the rear of Barford Street or Cheapside and the only waterway that was close at hand was the River Rea.
