Blimey, - such a lot of memories on this thread!
I used to go to Lea Village (Mirfield School) at the same time as Omo Collins and the others mentioned (was in the same class as Joy Bagshaw if I recall correctly).
I heard that the school was to be demolished a year or so ago and went along and took a few photos of the place for posterity.

Roy I don't know if you read earlier in the thread. I used to work on the fair with Omo and we became very good mates.
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?

Roy Twing, why don't you post your photo's of Lea Village Schools?  I'm sure a few of us would be very grateful!!  Is anything built on the site yet, do you know?  It was sacrilege to pull those buildings down, they weren't even built until the 30's!!!
