Choral Variations Concert, Symphony Hall Birmingham 23/6
« on: May 08, 2012, 09:56:46 AM »
Canoldir Male Choir are rehearsing and getting ready for our 46th Annual Concert.  This year’s concert will be yet again held at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham on 23rd June 2012 at 7pm and is entitled Canoldir’s ‘Choral Variations’.

Our very special guests this year will be the very successful Birmingham group Black Voices.

Black Voices describe their repertoire as ‘a carefully woven tapestry covering a broad spectrum of musical styles’ and they continually add new threads of colour to their rich fabric of oral music.

Consistently honed over the last two and a half decades, their music transcends age, race, gender or religious persuasion.  Black Voices has an extensive repertoire of traditional songs from Africa, jazz, gospel, pop, Motown, Caribbean and English folk.

Canoldir Male Choir celebrated success in April 2011 after winning three prizes in the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival, including Best UK Choir and Best Large UK Choir.

Please come and help us celebrate our 46th year, we promise you an exciting evening of widely varied choral music from modern pop favourites to grand opera and some superb acapella singing and even music from the 1953 Coronation.

Tickets are priced £10 - £21 and are available from the Symphony Hall Box Office on 0121 345 0603

There is also a opportunity to win a pair of tickets to this concert by visiting Canoldir's website.
