Of you enter Carlton in the search box on the Home Page of the forum, it's on the top right of the page.  It will bring up several posts referring to the Carlton Cinema. This is one such post that I made about the bombing of the Carlton during the war.

Hi Andy,
I was only a babe in arms but my Mom was taking me to the Carlton the night it was bombed luckily our neighbor Bill Stretton stopped her, Dad was on nights at the Austin and had asked him to look after us.
Regards.
That’s interesting to me because my surname is Stretton and I do have William Stretton in my family tree. Do you know where he lived?
