Mog,
It will be nice, once completed,a feature which can do nothing but good for the image of the city. O0

Not a fat lot of difference in my opinion....a shopping mall over the station. To many corridors and alleys for people to hide and the white walls will soon become grubby. Its just an expensive make-over.
Its a shame the chance to make a statement has been lost.

I did not see the previous version but knew the old one of the 50s and before - lovely arching roof, smutty, grubby .......what else, it had real trains with steam engines from the Blackie workhorses, to the 'Jubes' and visiting Coronation class...it had atmosphere that this apparently sanitised plastic place will lack...and you get bread an drippin' if Maud was on O0 ;D

You do need to realise on this, that while its a nice new building,  none of the railwy parts or workings are being renewed.

The cross city line will still break,  but you can shop in john lewis until trains get running again.....

Is that one of London's famous & now defunct "Bendy" buses I spotted 2.25 mins into the film?  :-\

No, it's a tram.     They plan to extend the existing Brum - Wolves tram network to include places like New Street Station.
