Hi Edmund no good in Burton but I am in contact with a place in Bristol.

Well I never expected that Townie, I can picture a lot of the people in the houses, which were the original houses not the new estate.  Numbers 215 to 259 ran from opposite Timberley Lane, 215 Cards house was dead opposite, to the last "old house" near Packington Ave. I left there in 1955 and used to live opposite No 229 and could name a lot of the residents kids, happy days, regards, John.

Glad that brought back some memories Jacko. I didn't move there until 1960 but still remember the shops .I suppose you remember the old shops a photo of them is posted on this thread.

Hi alee Welcome to the forum  O0 I'm sure if you look through this thread you will find something or someone you remember. I know there are 86pages, but believe me it will bring back some good memories.

I remember dr Weiss, I went out with his grandson does anyone remember the car crash in the rover V8? that went 40ft over Stonebridge flyover it was in the Birmingham post , that was me , and dr Weiss grandson, I lived to tell the tale

I’m looking to hear from anyone who lived in Fennel Croft -Shard End in the early 60s.


I went to Alderlea Secondary Modern school in the late 50s to 1962/63


A good friend put me in touch with this forum and Im absolutely fascinatied by the many stories related to Shard End.


I’m now living in Cyprus and it would be wonderful to hear from anyone I may have known from Shard End
