Re Friendly pub. It allways made me smile when i passed by, the wall around it was covered in broken glass and barbed wire,not to friendly looking.

Thats right, Kings Norton - Chlemsley Wood - Kings Norton, we were always on the move.... Then also somewhere in the mix there was Hall Green - Great Barr- Hall Green - Sheldon - Hall Green. I was alright, it was the poor cat that suffered  ;D ;D [size=78%]     [/size]

As townie says, not like that when it opened, OK for 3 or 4  years then went downhill. The first Gaffer was a big bloke called Trever. Couple of blokes with Piano and guitar used to play there on Sunday nights (I think). They were like a Brummie Chas and Dave. I can still see that 1970's pink draylon upholstery in the lounge......

Ya know townie, the majority of the of the old pubs were like that, but we never noticed t in our own backyard. Most but not all pubs these days are passing but local trade.
