Anybody know if Steelhouse Lane is still an active police station and if the cells are still in use?

I read that a new 60 cell custody suite had opened in Perry Barr a few months ago and wondered if it had replaced Steelhouse Lane?
Hi All
I believe that Steelhouse Lane Police Station is still open but is scheduled to close when the refurbishment of Lloyd House (Police Headquarters) is completed which I understand will be very soon. A new station is being incorporated into Lloyd House.

hello, I'm trying to find any info on a man known as 'johnnie rodger' who i believe was detective at steel house lane police station and then became a bailiff... i believe he lived in edgbaston and would have been born approx 1900s/1910s. any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Brum1
I think the Police Station closed last weekend and the flag lowered.

Have you tried the police museum,

[email protected]'

I've heard that the person in charge "Steve" can be very helpful and if he can assist you then he will but you have to realise that like everybody he can be very busy at times, so you might have to wait a little while for an answer.

Gerald.

One of out members Astoness (Lyn) was at the closing day ceremony and took loads of photos. I'm sure she won't mind me posting this one of the flag being handed over to Steve the curator of the Police museum for display at the new museum. I know she has lots of photos of inside & out of the police station. If we ask nicely she may post them for us.
