Phil thank you for putting up the photo's of Great Lister Street, as a child just after the war, I used to walk from my home in Aston Church Road every Saturday morning, and stand in a queue for ages, to buy pigs trotters and tripe for my dads dinner, at Thompsons butchers, it was a great shopping area in those days, The shop on the corner of Scholefield Street, and Great Lister Street, was Stuarts furniture store,where as a newly married couple in 1957, we purchased our first three piece suite, Another of the pictures shows Bannisters Chemist, one of the well know chemists in Birmingham in those days, I believe you could buy most of what you could need in Great Lister Street in those days, thanks again for the memories of the past.
